Gladys Mae Fontenot (Martin) was born May 2, 1926 in Jackson, Mississippi to Clyde and Katie Martin. She went home on May 23, 2018 just 21 days after her 92nd birthday. Gladys grew up in Jackson and later moved to Miami, Florida and eventually moving to La Porte, Texas where she stayed for the remainder of her life. She spent time raising her children and working in the retail market. After retiring her favorite past-time was sewing and monthly trips to the Dollar Store for all the best items.

Gladys is preceded by her parents, her brother Joseph L. Martin (buddy) and her ex-husband John Fontenot. She is survived by her children; Glenn Fontenot, Peggy Fontenot and husband Bobby Mochman, Sr., and Larry Fontenot. Also grandchildren; BJ Mochman Jr. and Kenneth Fontenot . She will be missed by extended family and friends.
