Obituary for Connie Dianne Cowan - Sacripante

Connie Dianne Cowan Sacripante, 53 was born November 25, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Thisbie Ann (Barnes) and Daniel Raye Cowan. Connie joined her son Daniel, Fiancée, Rob Aguilar, and father, Daniel on December 22, 2017.

She and her brother, Chuck grew up in Colorado. She graduated from Durango Sr. High School, Durango Colorado in 1983.

After moving to La Porte she worked for The Travel Agency. She married Kelly Hoskins. For a while she lived in Denver and California. She did a lot of traveling during her time with The Travel Agency. She met Justin Sacripante in California and married in 1995. Together they moved to Texas and then New York.

She earned her Bachelor of Science from State University of New York. She worked at a social services company in Yonkers, New York and then for University of Pittsburg Hospital doing research. She also earned a Masters of Social Work from the University of New England. She was very proud of the work she did and received a certificate of appreciation for community leadership and commitment to end domestic violence from the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence. One of 9 awards presented by the governor of Maine.

After having Daniel in 2006, Connie was a full time caregiver for her son with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). She stayed at home taking care of him until his death in 2012. In 2013 she moved to Phoenix and worked for a short time transporting foster children between parents and foster homes. In 2015 she moved back to La Porte. She told her mother, Thisbie Ann Stout, on her birthday she should have stayed in La Porte because she "Liked the nice little town atmosphere and the bay”.

Connie is survived by her mother, Thisbie Ann Stout; her brother, Charles Cowen and many extended family and friends. She will be missed by many. May her memories live on in all of us.
