Obituary for James Raymond Williams Jr.

James Raymond Williams Jr.
Our Gift: June 6, 1966, God’s Gift June 30, 2017
James Raymond Williams was born on Monday, June 6, 1966, to Zelma R. Hinton-Williams and James Williams Sr. in Boston, MA. James was an active child and he played football until he had to stop due to asthma. Even as a toddler he loved football. When he did play football and got the ball in his hands he could really run fast. After football, James joined the Boy Scouts of America. James attended Evan E. Worthing High School until he went to Job Corps. James took up several trades but overall because he loved people and loved helping people, he decided to go into the medical field. While working in the medical field he worked in the Texas Medical Center and The Museum District in Houston, Texas To our great disappointment James was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and was forces into an early retirement. James fought a long hard battle with his Multiple Sclerosis, and the hardest part for our family was watching him suffer from the severe complications and the disease itself. He fought his disease for twenty years. God let James know he had suffered enough on June 30, 2017.
James is survived by his Mother, Zelma R. Hinton-Dickey; his youngest brother John V. Dickey; his Sister Pamela A. Tomer-Williams; his niece Monique Williams-Rocha; nephew-in-law Bernard Rocha; great-nephew Bernard Rocha Jr.; nephew Rolando Morado Jr., and five more nephews, one niece and two great-uncles; four great-aunts and other uncles, aunts and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Mae Willie Johnson-Hinton and his Grandfather Thomas Hinton Sr.; his Uncle, Charlie Hinton, Uncle, Israel Lee Hinton, and Great Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.
During his struggles, James touched the lives of many as he was care for and returned the appreciation for those in his life. We would like to thank all the medical institutions that had a meaningful part in James’ treatment prior to and leading up to his passing.
We would especially like to thank the following; Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston Methodist West Hospital,; Doctors, Nurses, PCA's, Social Workers, Chaplin's and all other caregivers. Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, and home health company; Home Therapeutic Solutions; we would like to thank the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and to all James private doctors we appreciate you showing your love, concern, and kindness when we really did need it we will never forget you all. We would also like to thank Metrolift who saw James to many of his appointments and the drivers that were so kind and patient.
We would like to give heartfelt thanks to Stepping Stone Funeral Home and First St. Matthew MBC. Each of you have been caring and shown a lot of compassion during our time of bereavement and for that we are thankful.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the James Raymond Williams Jr. Funeral Fund. www.funeralfund.com/project/james-raymond-williams-jr/partner_id:43
